Dr. Krishanu Ray has received his MS in Physics from IIT Kharagpur and PhD in spectroscopy from Jadavpur University, India. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. Before joining University of Maryland he was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. He served as a guest editor for the Journal of Fluorescence. He has authored over 50 articles in international peer reviewed journals and two book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for several international journals and grant agencies. His current area of research focuses on the application of advanced fluorescence spectroscopy, plasmonics and single molecule detection in biomedical research.
