Biography

Jiang Chang, Professor, Fellow of International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (FBSE), vice president of the Interdisciplinary Research Society for Bone and Joint Injectable Biomaterials., received a Ph.D in 1991 in Chemistry from the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, and worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Medical University of Luebeck in Germany from 1991 to 1993. Then he worked as a research fellow at the School of Medicine, University of Auckland in New Zealand (1993-1997). In 1997, He moved to USA and was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor in the Medical School at New York University from 1997 to 1999, and a research scientist at Johnson&Johnson from 1999 to 2000. Since 2001, Professor Chang has been the director of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Research Center at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Interest

Dr Chang’s research focuses on bioactive materials including calcium phosphate and silicate bioceramics, bioactive glasses and composites for tissue regeneration, tissue engineering and drug delivery
