Biography

Dr. Ahmed holds a Ph.D and M.Sc from the Ohio State University, USA and B.Sc from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. He has over 33 years of teaching and research experience in two American universities, four Middle Eastern and AUT. He is a member of more than 10 professional societies including a Fellow member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering. He has supervised more than 90 postgraduate students in biomedical applications, vibrations, biomechanics, electroactive polymers, system dynamics and control. He has published more than 250 papers in international journals and conference proceedings including two ASME books on Vibration and Acoustics in Biomedical Applications and a third on Medical Devices for Respiratory Dysfunctions. Ahmed is a member of editorial and refereeing boards for several international journals. His current research focuses on biomedical applications with particular interest in the application of vibration and acoustics to airway constriction therapies and non-invasive artery diagnostics.
