    DNA sorption is the process by which DNA molecules adsorb into solid surfaces, such as mineral particles, soil particles and sediments. The adsorption of DNA molecules onto these surfaces can be attributed to the electrostatic interactions between the negatively charged phosphate backbone of DNA and the positively charged surface of the mineral particles.
