    Effect of Small-Scale Irrigation Practices on the Economic Condition of Farmers in North Wollo Zone, Ethiopia

    This study investigates the effect of small-scale irrigation practices on the economic condition of farmers in the North Wollo zone of Ethiopia. Given the region's vulnerability to drought and inconsistent rainfall, small-scale irrigation is increasingly seen as a vital strategy for enhancing agricultural productivity and improving livelihoods. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, data were collected from a sample of farmers utilizing different irrigation techniques. The findings reveal that farmers engaged in small-scale irrigation experience significantly higher crop yields, income levels and food security compared to their rain-fed counterparts. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of access to resources, such as financial support and training, in optimizing the benefits of irrigation practices.
