Zurina Zainal Abidin

Biography

 Zurina received her BEng(Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University (UK) in 1997, Master (Biotechnology) at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST, UK) and Ph.D. in 2006 from University of Manchester (UK) in Biochemical Engineering. Initially she developed her career as a process engineer in Elektrisola (M) Sdn Bhd in 1998. In 1999, she joined Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a Tutor and currently a senior lecturer in Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. She is also an associate researcher for the Biosensor Groups at the Institute of Advance Technology, UPM and currently a member of several international and national professional bodies such as AIChE and Institut of Engineers Malaysia. Her research areas focus on biochemical engineering application on bioseparation using electrokinetics/Microarray Technology, Extraction of bioproducts membrane filtration, Biosensor and also wastewater treatment. She has successfully supervised many postgraduate in similar disciplines and also published many articles in relation to biochemical engineering area.
