Biography

Dr. Zhi-Ping Liu was graduated from University of Science and Technology of China with BA in Computer Science in 1982. She then went to Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and got her Master degree in Biochemistry in 1986. In 1994, she got her PhD in Biophysics from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.The major interest of her lab is to understand the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms involved in human disease with a focus on cardiovascular diseases and cancer using a multidisciplinary approach, including molecular and cellular biology, genetics, biochemistry, immunology and electrophysiology.

Research Interest

1) Role of histone demethylases in cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis
2) Role of FoxO4 in post-MI modeling
3) LZTFL1 in cancer and metabolism and 4) Histone demethylases in prostate and kidney cancers.
