Biography

Yong Cui, M.D., M.S.P.H., is a scientist in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Cui has diverse experience in clinical medicine and medical research. He received his medical education and clinical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Anhu Medical University, Nanjing Medical University, and Beijing Medical University, in China. He gained his research experience in Clinical Pharmacology and Physiology in Brown University and the University of Cincinnati, respectively. He also completed his residency training in Preventive Medicine at Meharry Medical College and fellow training in Epidemiology in the Division of Internal Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt University. His research interests include Cancer Epidemiology, Molecular/Genetic Epidemiology, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), especially Epidemiology of CAM use and herb-drug interactions. Dr. Cui has served as a peer-reviewer for several scientific journals in the fields of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health, and Cancer Research. 

Research Interest

Cancer epidemiology and molecular/genetic epidemiology; Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), especially epidemiology of CAM use, safety issues of CAM use, and in vitro and in vivo studies on herb-drug interactions
