Biography

Obtained my medical degree from Wei Fang Medical College in China and a MS degree from Shanghai Medical University in China in 1993 and I earned my PhD degree in Pharmacology from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1999 During my PhD training I studied the role of calcium sensing receptor in the regulation of vascular tone and blood pressure After postdoctoral research training in Cardiovascular Medicine at Harvard Medical School I completed medical residency training at Tufts affiliated program in 2005 Following Nephrology Fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine I joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2008 Besides providing patient care and teaching I devote majority of my time to biomedical research My current research projects focus on the pathogenesis of renal fibrosis and molecular mechanisms of acute kidney injur

Research Interest

Dr. Yanlin Wang research interests are to define the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying kidney disease. Particularly, he is interested the role of bone marrow-derived fibroblasts, inflammation, and oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of renal fibrosis and the role of novel signaling pathways including AMP-activated protein kinase in acute kidney injury.
