Wilson Liambila is an associate in the Population Council’s Nairobi office. He implements, manages, and evaluates reproductive health research; identifies and arranges technical assistance to support project activities; and develops relevant and appropriate research tools, including the Balanced Counseling Strategy toolkit.
Liambila seeks to provide governments and providers of health services with research results that influence the way national programs are conceived, planned, implemented, and evaluated. His own research has contributed to the expansion from pilot to national scale of many programs in place today in Kenya, including integrating HIV testing and counseling into family planning services and the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness strategy developed by WHO and UNICEF.
