Simon D Taylor-Robinson head a Translational Research Facility at the St Mary’s Campus of Imperial College London, which encompasses a metabonomic, genomic, proteomic and in vivo imaging research approach. My major research interests include pathogenic and biochemical mechanisms of liver injury in patients with viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and the pathogenesis of hepatic encephalopathy. From a clinical perspective, I am Director of the Liver Clinical Research Facility at St Mary’s Hospital, which is the only dedicated facility in London for liver related clinical trials. The majority of studies are on new treatments for hepatitis C.
