Biography
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Tiwari is currently an Assistant Professor of Biopharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. He joined CUSP in September 2013. He was an Assistant Professor in Department of Life Sciences at Shiv Nadar University in India for a short time. He received his Ph.D. (2006) in Organic Chemistry from Dr. B.R. Ambedker Center for Biomedical Research, University of Delhi, one of the most reputed Institutes and Universities in India. During his Ph.D. research work, he developed several new classes of antimicrobial compounds using indoles.
Research Interest
Dr. Tiwari has a keen interest in the interphase of chemistry and biology with a focus on using peptides and small molecules in solving biological problems. Some areas of interest include developing bisubstrate inhibitors for protein kinases, targeted delivery of anticancer drugs to tumor, neuroprotection using peptides and small molecules, nanoparticles for drug delivery, and developing antimicrobial agents. Dr. Tiwari has authored 56 peer-reviewed articles, 1 patent, 1 book chapter, and 38 meeting abstracts.
