Patricia Trbovich is Assistant Professor of Clinical Engineering in the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, and of Health Informatics in the Department of Health, Policy, Management and Evaluation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.Patricia’s overall research focus is on assessing how environments, technology, workflow processes, and human characteristics affect patient safety and the overall healthcare system. Her most recent work includes research on the analysis of issues surrounding Smart Medication Delivery Systems within the context of existing healthcare practices and the development of recommendations to improve the safety, effectiveness, and implementation of these systems. As Principal Investigator on a research grant funded by the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), she also conducted extensive research on Mitigation of Interruptions on Delivery of High-Risk Medical Procedures.
