Matt is responsible for guiding a multimillion dollar portfolio; one of the largest and most complex within the USAID Mission. In partnership with the Health Team Leader and the Deputy Team Leader, he interacts with multilateral and bilateral agencies, the Malawi government, NGOs, the private sector, and any other key stakeholder involved in HIV/AIDS programming. Matthew is fully engaged in the day to day management of the HIV/AIDS Unit as well as guiding and mentoring staff and working with the Program Management Specialist in technical oversight, strategic leadership, and planning and reporting. Matthew has a Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a Masters of Public Health degree with a Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Hygiene and Public Health, a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and a certificate in Micro-enterprise Development from the University of Southern New Hampshire. Prior to his fellowship, Matthew was an HIV/AIDS Senior Technical Advisor with USAID in Washington, DC.
