Biography
Dr. Masataka Majima is working as a Professor & Chair (Department of Pharmacology) at Kitasato University. Majima is widely recognized for a number of key studies to understand the physiological and pathophysiological mechanism of angiogenesis/lymphangiogenesis. His major concern is elucidating functions of biologically active lipids such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. He developed several kinds of knockout mice lacking receptors of the lipids to reveal functions of these lipids, using a number of in vivo models.
