Mary A Young

Biography

Mary A Young is the Principal Investigator of the Washington DC Metropolitan Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) and a member of the DC developmental CFAR where Mary A Young actively assist investigators transitioning to HIV research. Mary A Young is a site investigator for the Georgetown University AIDS Clinical Trials Unit and was site PI on the recent study of the HPV vaccine in HIV infected women. I have been involved in all of the major substudies of the WIHS and Mary A Young was the site investigator for the WIHS related RO-1 clinical trial.

Research Interest

 The clinical, laboratory and psychosocial aspects of HIV in women with emphasis on the metabolic changes occurring as a result of the use of highly active antiretrovirals (HAART).
