Lioba Howatson-Jones is Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she teaches on pre-registration, post-registration and Masters level programmes. She has been teaching at Canterbury Christ Church University since 2003. Previously she worked in clinical practice in mainly acute areas and then became a practice development nurse.
Lioba has completed a PhD which explored the learning of nurses using an auto/biographical approach. The results from this have informed a biographical CPD module which has lead to practitioners learning differently. Lioba has a particular interest in clinical supervision and person centred ways of working and learning. She has published on reflective practice and lifelong learning. Her research interests include: lifelong learning and using biographical methods to help people learn from their lives and to document their experiences.
