Kaija Saranto

Biography

Kaija Saranto is a Professor in Health and Human Services Informatics, at the Department of Health and Social Management, University of Eastern Finland. In 2013 she was invited to act as the professor in patient safety for the new Research Center for Comparative Effectiveness and Patient Safety (RECEPS).she has served as the nursing informatics expert at the National Development Project for the Adoption of the National Electronic Record System in Finland 2004-2009. Currently she is working as acting vice chair for the national expertice group for Nursing Documentation, and Patient Safety Research and she is  also the co-chair of the SPC for the Medinfo 2015.
 

Research Interest

 Role of terminology in electronic information systems,information system implementation, patient safety initiatives especially on adverse events reporting systems and medication reconciliation,Nursing discharge summary, Medication, Documentation.
