J. H. Kofi Bonney is a research scientist who began his professional research work in Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Accra, Ghana in the year, 2000 with a special interest in virology. Had his basic, secondary and tertiary education in Cape Coast and Accra, Ghana. He graduated with a PhD in Microbiology in the University of Ghana after spells in East London and Leicester Universities in UK for Masters in Medical Microbiology and the start of my PhD program respectively. He did extensive research study at the Virology Department of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg Germany, a WHO reference center for Arboviruses and Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs). As a consequence of his PhD research work with regards to the establishment of testing protocols for VHFs, the first cases of Lassa fever in Ghana were detected and documented as well as the testing for suspected cases of Ebola and other VHFs. J H Kofi Bonney is married with two children.
