Professor Pryme is concerned that the research should also provide practical results, and has therefore been involved in the development of Lectinect Mage and Lectinect Immun. Recent research shows that lectins from elderberries can support the immune system, and Pryme has actively contributed to developing products based on these important proteins. Ian F. Pryme was born in Stockport, United Kingdom. He has worked in Norway since 1967 in various positions within research, teaching and administration. From July 2014, he is Professor Emeritus. Lectins and their effect on the immune system have been one of Professor Pryme's research areas.
