Dr.Hui Su Lee currently focuses upon the physiological roles of aromatic essential oils in neuronal cells as well as endothelial cells. In more detail, we explore novel biochemical mechanisms of aromatic essential oils which can control brain diseases such as pain and which can also control cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension. Current emphasis of laboratory animal studies focuses upon the experimental analysis of the basic mechanisms of aromatic essential oils with the objective of evaluating compounds. To develop aromatheraphy that has aromatic effect without adverse effects after revealing their mechanisms of action, we also study the action of aromatic essential oils in pain related clinical diseases. In addition, we are also interested in elucidating the role of calcium in the regulation of neuronal plasticity.
