Education: 1982-1984 - Medical school (college), Medical University, Sofia Specialist degree (now BSc)- Nurse practitioner; exams in 1995 1985-1987 - Faculty of Biology, Plovdiv University 1987-1990 - Faculty of Biology, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” 1990 - MSc in biology Master thesis: Underground water mites from Vitosha Mountain and middle stretch of the Iskar River. 10.2005-03.2009 - PhD student, Institute of Zoology, BAS (now IBER-BAS) 2011 - PhD in hydrobiology, IBER-BAS PhD thesis: Trophic significance of bacterioplankton in stagnant freshwater ecosystems - interactions with abiotic and biotic factors in the pelagial.
