Lauth studied psychology from 1968 to 1974 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , where he received his doctorate in 1979. After a job at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. In 1997 he was appointed professor for psychology and psychotherapy in curative education at the University of Cologne. where he set up a research clinic for children and adolescents. In addition, it is committed to a close-knit transfer between research and practice with its scientific continuing education programs. His research interests are mainly concerned with the development, diagnosis and treatment of learning and behavior disorders. .
