Eva Nissen holds a position as professor specializing in reproductive and perinatal health. Eva has a dual registration as nurse and midwife and holds also a teaching diploma. She has a PhD in medical science. She has extensive experience from teaching at midwifery programs and master program in care sciences. She has previously been program director of the midwifery program at Karolinska Institutet. She presently chairs of the Division for Reproductive Health and is a core leader for Women’s and Children’s Health within the Strategic Research Program in Caring Science. Eva Nissen is heading the recently founded research group "Parenting and Childbirth" and previously she headed the "Parent-infant interaction and breastfeeding group". She is familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods. She has been editor of Textbook for Midwives and has contributed to different textbooks.At present she is PI for an intervention with a mindfulness based education for pregnant women and their spouse to promote maternal and infant health and interaction.
