Dr. Emad A. Elsebakhi (El-Sebakhy) is a principal investigator within the division of biomedical informatics research, Sidra Medical and Research Center (SIDRA), Doha, Qatar. He is leading team to provide innovative research in biomedicine and genomics era with big data towards personalized medicine. His focuses on inventing and developing cutting-edge advanced large-scale machine learning on high performance computing (HPC) translational research platform to handle big biomedicine and healthcare industry real-life problems in Complex and Rare diseases. He utilizes quantitative science with based on the integrations of Genomics (whole and exome genome sequencing with SNPs and GWAS data) and Phenotypes EMR data to build clinical and molecular decision systems that saves live and reduce the treatment expenditure. Prior to SIDRA, Emad was a Principal/Senior scientist within Clinical and Genomics Solutions, Elsevier Inc., Orlando, Florida, USA. He started his industry experiences as a system business analyst and software engineers within two different industry companies: Corning Inc., Optical Fiber Glass and Autodesk Inc., Computer Graphics and Animations, USA. After his graduation, he was an assistance professor of Computer Science at State University of New York, Albany, NY, USA, Mansoura University, Egypt, and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Emad earned his graduate studies with Ph.D. in Computer Science and Statistics from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA in 2004 and he received the B.Sc. (cum laude) and M.Sc. Degrees in Mathematics and from Mansoura University, Egypt.
