Biography
Carey S. Clark, has been a nurse since 1994, with a wide range of practical-clinical experience, including acute medical-surgical, pediatrics, inpatient psychiatric, home health nursing, parish nursing, and hospice nursing. Dr. Clark has taught for 18 years across all levels of nursing in the traditional, online, and hybrid classroom settings.
Having completed both the MSN and PhD coursework in the online format, she is very familiar with the challenges and benefits of working in this environment from the student perspective. Dr. Clark strives to support students in the RN- BSN program at UMA through supporting their scholarly learning journey, as well as their self-care and healing processes which enables them to create sustainable caring-healing bedside nursing practices. Being a board certified advanced holistic nurse, Dr. Clark has expertise in many holistic-integrative modalities and she is a Reiki Master and Registered Yoga Teacher.
Dr. Clark is currently researching nursing studentsâââ‰â¢ adverse childhood events and she continues to focus on the psychoneuroimmunological effects of stress on health, healing, and well-being.
