Alan Lifson received his M.D. from the University of California- San Francisco and his M.P.H. from the University of California- Berkeley. His research interests in infectious disease epidemiology include HIV/AIDS and international health. His current research includes the clinical epidemiology of HIV in various settings. He is also clinical director of the Minnesota site for the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center. He has taught, consulted, or conducted research on HIV and other infectious diseases in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia. He teaches a course on infectious disease epidemiology.
