Biography

Adam Akullian is a research scientist at the Institute for Disease Modeling (IDM), part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He is Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington in Seattle. Adam has a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Washington and an Sc.B. in Environmental Science from Brown University. Adam's research focuses on geo-spatial, mathematical, and epidemiological modeling of HIV/AIDS and enteric infections in sub-Saharan Africa with the goal of understanding transmission dynamics in high-burden settings.
