Huang Wei Ling

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction are caused by Kidney energy deficiency. Is there a Relationship between Helicobacter Pylori Infection and Esophageal Cancer?

Berhe Dessalegn Tuamay

Background: Several studies had shown that Helicobacter pylori infection is inversely associated with esophageal cancer. These studies had claimed that infection had associated with protective effect. However, other studies come out with different conclusion about the relationship, as a result, the issue has remained controversial. Objective: The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to examine the association between Helicobacter pylori infection and esophageal cancer. Esophageal cancer is among the foremost frequent neoplasms, a main reason for cancer-related deaths worldwide and a clinically difficult sickness requiring a multidisciplinary approach [15]. muscular structure cancer is split into 2 microscopic anatomy types: muscular structure epithelial cell malignant neoplastic disease (ESCC), associated principally with environmental risk factors (e.g., smoking and alcohol consumption), and muscular structure glandular carcinoma (EAC) situated on the point of the viscus junction, etiologically not to mention esophageal reflux sickness (GERD). within the westernized population, the incidence of EAC redoubled sharply, displacing ESCC, the latter accounting for many of the incidence of muscular structure cancer fifty years past.

Media Inclusiveness for Persuasive Health Communication: An Interventional Approach Against Breast Cancer

-

With the overwhelming cases of disease outbreak and spread of infectious diseases such as Ebola, HIV and Tuberculosis among other deadly diseases recorded overtime, it has become clear that traditional interventions are not enough to effectively prevent and control such major health threats. Health-related research shows that properly designed behavior- based health communication activities have more effective and significant impact on health- related attitudes and behaviors than traditional interventional approaches. The role and place of media in various fields and spheres of life cannot be overemphasized. The print media, the broadcast media as well as the internet alike have proven in their distinct and collective ways to be key and effective means of information dissemination which could bring about major change in individual’s behavior. Therefore, the current study is set to fill the gap employing media as an effective interventional tool to aid the traditional methods and strategies of sending health communicative messages to the target audience, with the aim of early detection, prevention and possible eradication of breast cancer in Northern Cyprus. The study comprises both quantitative and qualitative methods. 320 women ranging from 18 to 65 years are systematically sampled from the study population using a multi stage hybrid sampling technique.

Teresa Benedito Pérez de Inestrosa, Esther Fernández Tardáguila and Victoria Romero Portero

A germ-cell tumor (GCT) is a neoplasm gotten from germ cells. Germ-cell tumors can be carcinogenic or amiable. Germ cells ordinarily happen inside the gonads (ovary and testis). GCTs that begin outside the gonads might be birth surrenders coming about because of blunders during improvement of the undeveloped organism. A neoplasm is a kind of irregular and exorbitant development, called neoplasia, of tissue. The development of a neoplasm is clumsy with that of the ordinary encompassing tissue, and continues developing strangely, regardless of whether the first trigger is removed. This irregular development ordinarily frames a mass, when it might be known as a tumor. ICD-10 characterizes neoplasms into four fundamental gatherings: amiable neoplasms, in situ neoplasms, threatening neoplasms, and neoplasms of questionable or obscure behavior. Malignant neoplasms are likewise just known as tumors and are the focal point of oncology. Before the anomalous development of tissue, as neoplasia, cells regularly experience a strange example of development, for example, metaplasia or dysplasia. However, metaplasia or dysplasia doesn't generally advance to neoplasia and can happen in different conditions as well. The word is from Ancient Greek νέος-neo ("new") and πλάσμα plasma ("arrangement", "creation").

When you Hear Hooves, it's a Zebra: Radiation Induced Tumor Lysis Syndrome in Bronchogenic Adenocarcinoma

Sean Stuart

Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is the sequela of large scale efflux of intracellular contents from rapid lysis of malignant cells, generally occurring within 7 days of chemotherapy initiation. These patients may develop a broad spectrum of symptoms that can lead to acute renal impairment, cardiac rhythm disturbances, seizures, and death. Intermediate to high risk patients are monitored closely and often offered prophylaxis against TLS. TLS cases described as spontaneous, related to solid organ tumors, or radiotherapy are uncommon and occur in oncology patients considered low risk. This outpatient low risk stratification may increase the likelihood that these patients will present with sequela of TLS. We present a case of a “low risk” patient with bronchogenic carcinoma presenting to the emergency department with new onset seizures and subsequently diagnosed with TLS after recent radiotherapy. Our case illustrates the importance of atypical presentations of critical conditions, as this appears to be the first reported case of radiation induced tumor lysis syndrome in bronchogenic adenocarcinoma. Given the increasing cancer burden and treatment modalities, we feel TLS will become a more prevalent condition is our Emergency Departments.
