Biography

Co-author of 40 papers on international journals (total impact factor 168.08; H index, 22) and 107 congress abstracts. Since 1991 he has been involved in research projects granted by EU, Telethon, AIRC, AFM (Association Française contre les Myopathies), CNR, MiUR (COFIN, FIRB, PRIN). Experience in immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, transfections of mammal cells, luciferase reporter genes, recombinant protein expression, Western-blotting, Northern-blotting, PCR/RT-PCR, ChIP (chromatin immunoprecipitation), EMSA, ELISA, handling of laboratory animals (mouse, rat). He attended an Advanced International Course on Immunofluorescence (1997). Membership: Board of Teachers of PhD in Biology and Experimental Medicine (University of Perugia), Interuniversitary Institute of Myology (IIM; member of the Scientific Committee), European Calcium Society, Società Italiana di Anatomia e Istologia. Selected reviewer for research projects from MIUR, University of Padua (Italy), University Pierre et Marie Curie of Paris (France), Swiss Foundation for Research on Muscle Diseases, and Research Foundation Flanders (FWO; Belgium).
