Francesco Travascio, Ph.D., graduated in 2009 at the University of Miami with a dissertation on transport phenomena in the intervertebral disc. After a few year of experience as a bioengineer in a robotic surgery company, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering of the University of Miami in 2012. He currently conducts research on the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system with special focus on spine mechanics, and intervertebral disc mechanics and biology.
