Carlos-Manuel Ortiz-Mendoza

Biography

Dr. Carlos-Manuel Ortiz-Mendoza has received his degree as Surgical Oncologist from the National Cancer Institute of Mexico, and the School of Medicine, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM: Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). Currently, he is professor of surgery at the School of Medicine, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and as a surgical oncologist at the Hospital General Tacuba, from the Social Security and Services Institute for State Workers (ISSSTE) in Mexico City. His primary research interests include breast cancer, and the association of obesity and metabolic syndrome to cancer. He has received the award Suma cum laude in his professional exam of Medicine. He is serving as an editorial member of the International Journal of Gynecological and Obstetrical Research. He is an expert reviewer for the journals: Clinical Medicine Insights–Oncology, Journal of Medical Case Reports, International Journal of Gynecological and Obstetrical Research, Journal of Clinical Case Reports, Journal of Molecular and Genetic Medicine, and e-Cancermedicalscience. He has published more than 34 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Finally, he is a member of the Mexican Society of Oncology.
