Applied mathematics is that the application of mathematical strategies by completely different fields likes physics, engineering, medicine, biology, finance, business, computing, and trade. Thus, applied math may be a combination of mathematical science and specialized information. The term "applied mathematics" conjointly describes the skilled specialty within which mathematicians work on sensible issues by formulating and learning mathematical models.

Historically, applied math consisted primarily of applied analysis, most notably differential equations; approximation theory (broadly construed, to incorporate representations, straight line strategies, vibrational strategies, and numerical analysis); and applied chance.

Today, the term "applied mathematics" is employed in a very broader sense.
