Abstract

The Journals aims to flourish and to maintain the standards in research and practice, provide platform and opportunity to present evidence based medicine and analytical assessment of research and probably it is much in deed for students, teachers and health care professionals to enhance the patient care. Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine brings articles in different areas related to pulmonology, respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, lung diseases (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute lung injury, acute respiratory distress syndrome, tuberculosis, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary edema), pulmonary function tests (PFT), respiratory care and respiratory therapy. Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine is an Open Access online journal, which publishes research articles, reviews, letters, case reports and guest-edited single topic issues in all areas of Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine. This Journal ensures speedy peer review process and accepted papers are published within 2 weeks of final acceptance.

Editorial

Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. In the year 2012 Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine (ISSN: 2161-105X) is found and growing continuously. It is our pleasure to announce that during year 2019, all issues of volume 9 were published online on time and the print issues were also brought out and dispatched within 30 days of publishing the issue online.

Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine during this year also brought out Infectious Diseases and Control, COPD & Lungs 2020 and Antibiotics: Discovery & Development, which consisted of ~ 50 abstracts.

Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine brings articles in different areas related to pulmonology, respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, lung diseases (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute lung injury, acute respiratory distress syndrome, tuberculosis, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary edema), pulmonary function tests (PFT), respiratory care and respiratory therapy. All published articles of this journal are included in the indexing and abstracting coverage of Index Copernicus, Google Scholar, Sherpa Romeo, Open J Gate, Genamics JournalSeek, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Electronic Journals Library, RefSeek, Hamdard University, EBSCO A-Z, End Note(Thomson Reuters), OCLC- WorldCat, SWB online catalog, Virtual Library of Biology (vifabio), Publons, Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, Studies receiving funding from a funding organization that is included on the list of PMC and Research Funder Policies or authors having NIH grant were submitted to PubMed.

The Journals aims to flourish and to maintain the standards in research and practice, provide platform and opportunity to present evidence based medicine and analytical assessment of research and probably it is much in deed for students, teachers and health care professionals to enhance the patient care.

During the calendar year 2019, JPRM received a total of 60 papers, out of which 34 articles (58%) were rejected in the preliminary screening due to plagiarism or being out of the format and peer review process. During 2019 around 21 articles were subjected for publication after they are accepted in the peer review process. In the 6 issues of Volume 9 published during the year 2019, a total of 21 articles were published (at an average of 4 articles per issue) of which, articles were published from authors all around the world. A total of 110 research scientists from all over the world reviewed the 36 articles published in volume 9. Average publication lag time of an article was further reduced to 2-3 weeks.

Association with Hilaris group has increased Readership Metrics (By Google Analytics) of Oral Health and Dental Management Journal which can be accessed at Google Analytics Metrics for the Pulmonary & Respiratory Medicine

I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Editor-in-Chief: Ibrahim Faruqi (USA), and Associate Editors: Vera P Krymskaya (USA), Kamal A Mohammed (USA) during the final editing of articles published and the support rendered by the editorial assistants: Dr Zeenat Safdar, Christofidou- Solomidou Melpo and Ramesh Natarajan in bringing out issues of JPRM in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of JPRM, the office bearers for their support in bringing out yet another volume of JPRM and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 10 of JPRM in scheduled-time.
