Web services are network-based application components with a service-oriented architecture using standard interface description languages   and uniform communication protocols. Due to the importance of the field, standards organizations such as WS-I, W3C, OASIS and Liberty Alliance are actively developing standards for web services. The International Journal of Web Services Research (JWSR) is the first international peer-reviewed publication that presents only the latest research results and industry solutions covering all aspects of Web service technology. The global scope of this review will cover advances in the state of the art, standards and practice of web services, as well as identifying new research topics and defining the future of service computing. , including web services on grid computing, web services on multimedia, web services on communication, etc. In conclusion, the JWSR provides an open and formal publication of high quality articles developed by theorists, educators, developers, researchers and practitioners to keep professionals abreast of the challenges of web service technology.

The use of augmented reality (AR) as a gateway to allow humans to become an active part within the Internet of Things (IoT). This mixture of technologies changes the IoT from its classic model, a network of intelligent objects mainly communicating without us, to an information exchange environment where we have the power to understand, react and modify our environment. The first section is a presentation of the general concepts concerning IoT and AR. The next sub-chapter will refer to some examples of combined use of AR and IoT already operational. The third paragraph will present the implementation of an educational application mixing AR & IoT to obtain better access for students to information.
