Vasculitis is a conditional abnormality that occurs in the human body when the body's own immune system mistakenly attacks the tissues or cells of blood vessels. This can happen for several reasons such as allergy, side effects of drugs, environmental changes, any viral or fungal infection or any disease. Due to vasculitis, the body's circulatory system is affected in a major way, which leads to serious consequences, such as redness, inflammation and sometimes even death. The journal impact factor provides a quantitative evaluation tool for classifying, evaluating, sorting and comparing journals of a similar nature. It reflects the average number of citations of recent articles published in scientific and social science journals in a given year or period, and is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal in its field. It was first designed by Eugene Garfield, the founder of the Institute for Scientific Information. The impact factor of a journal is assessed by dividing the number of citations from the current year to source articles published in that journal in the previous two years.
