The condition in which the bones become less dense and more likely to fracture is mentioned as Osteoporosis. These result in pain and disability. Complication of untreated celiac disease is Osteoporosis. Calcium which is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones is absorbed into the body by small intestine. Low bone density is common in children and adults with untreated and newly diagnosed celiac disease because calcium should be taken as a nutrient.
