Obesity Impact Factor

To date, about 50 journals, in which 20 journals and 100 conferences are currently devoted to obesity and its consequences, according to recent results, obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it can have a negative effect on health, leading to a reduction in life expectancy and / or an increase in health problems. People are considered obese when their body mass index (BMI), a measure obtained by dividing a person's weight by the square of their height, exceeds 30 kg / m2. Obesity increases the likelihood of various illnesses, especially heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. Obesity is most often caused by a combination of excessive dietary energy intake, lack of physical activity and genetic sensitivity, although some cases are mainly caused by genes, endocrine disorders, medication or psychiatric disorder. There is limited evidence to support the view that some obese people eat little but gain weight due to a slow metabolism. On average, obese people have higher energy expenditure than their lean counterparts due to the energy required to maintain increased body mass.
