Nanoscale electronics and photonics are becoming increasingly important areas of research that have excited politicians and attracted large numbers of scientists, engineers and graduate students. Recent developments in nanoscale photonics (eg plasmonics, near field photonics and optical metamaterials) could lead to new applications such as high resolution lithography and thermally localized nanoparticles for the treatment of cancer. Similarly, electronically, spintronics, graphene electronics and topological insulators could lead to high density memory and high speed transistors. By extrapolation, the future of nanoscale electrophotonics could be on the horizon. The nanoscale modification can alter the chemistry and / or topography of the implant surface. Various methods have been described for modifying or improving titanium substrates with characteristics at the nanometric scale. Such changes modify the interaction of the implant surface with ions, biomolecules and cells. These interactions can favorably influence molecular and cellular activities and alter the process of osseointegration. In this chapter, a modification at the nanometric scale of Ti6Al4V covered with TiO2 nanoparticles was presented in detail. From the results mentioned above, it can be concluded that TiOAl4V coated with TiO2 nanoparticles is more resistant to corrosion than bare Ti6Al4V in simulated biofluids. In addition, Raman microspectroscopy, as a powerful technique for distinguishing different crystal phases using Raman spectroscopic mapping, was also discussed. The results show that the temperature affects the transformation of anatase into rutile.
