Journal of Forensic Biomechanics is one of Cardiovascular Biomechanics' most open indexed journals. All of the journal's published papers are included on the following indexing websites: Google Scholar, EBSCO, Academic Search Complete, airiti, JournalSeek, Open J Gate, Media Finder and ProQuest. Cardiovascular biomechanics focuses on the cardiovascular system's model-based biomechanical analysis, relevant for pathophysiology, diagnosis, intervention and cardiovascular disease treatment. Research in fluid cardiovascular biomechanics includes examining the reactivity of the blood vessels and developing atherosclerosis to understand the development of lesions in animal models to relate fluid mechanical stresses and changes in the properties of vascular material to lesion growth. Good cardiovascular biomechanics work involves biomechanical analysis of abdominal aortic aneurysms and cerebral aneurysms to better understand disease pathogenesis. In clinical practice and biomedical industry, the application of cardiovascular biomechanics for functional diagnostic imaging (with MRI, Ultrasound and CT), surgical preparation and cardiology of operation will become increasingly relevant. The Cardiovascular Biomechanics group carries out research in the area of cardiovascular system computational and experimental biomechanical analysis. The goal is to develop theoretical models, experimental techniques and medical tools for clinical diagnosis, support for decision taking and intervention.
