Immunotoxicology Review Articles
Immunotoxicology is the broken of the immune system because of the exposure of organisms to extrinsic factors. The immune system is prey following exposure to a various groups of xenobiotic including chemical pollutants, recreational drugs, ultraviolet radiation, and therapeutics. There are a well-established source and effect relationship between the suppression of the immune response and reduced resistance to infections. Xenobiotic exposure may result in the stimulant of immune function. Xenobiotics can act as allergens and elicit hypersensitivity responses, or they can modulate hypersensitivity responses to other allergens. The immune dysfunction may take the form of immunosuppression or alternatively, allergy or autoimmunity or any number of inflammatory-based diseases. Immunotoxicity can be regarded as one of several distinct immune pathologies that include allergic disease, immunodeficiency, and autoimmunity. In immune pathologies, the immune system responds to the agent as an allergen of low (hapten) or high molecular weight, that results in allergic contact dermatitis, food hypersensitivity, or respiratory hypersensitivity. In immunodeficiency, the immune system acts as a submissive target for the agent and this may lead to increased incidence or severity of the infectious disease. Autoimmunity which is a break-down in self-tolerance occurs when an agent directly or indirectly induces an immune response to autologous constituents that result in pathological consequences. As the immune system plays an analytical role in host supports to disease as well as in normal homeostasis of an organism, identification of immunotoxic risk is significant in the protection of human, animal, and wildlife health. Journal Article is sometimes called a Scientific Article, a Peer-evaluate Article, or a Scholarly Research Article. Together, journal articles in a specific field are often referred to as The Literature. Journal articles are most often Primary Research Articles. However, they can also be evaluated Articles. These types of articles have different aims and necessity. Sometimes, an article describes a new tool or method. Because articles in scientific journals are specific, meticulously cited, and peer-evaluate, journal databases are the best place to look for information on previous research on your species. Without a background in the field, journal articles may be hard to understand - however, you do not need to understand an entire article to be able to get valuable information from it.
