Hypotension Pharmacology Importance

Hypotension (low blood pressure) can be just as serious as hypertension. But the good news is that low blood pressure can be easily recognized by key signs and symptoms. Low blood pressure occurs when blood pressure drops below a normal range (120/80 mmHg). Therefore, in hypotensive states caused by volume depletion, intravenous fluids or whole blood are given to restore circulating volume and enhance cardiac output and arterial pressure. Drugs are also given that stimulate the heart to increase cardiac output by increasing heart rate and stroke volume. Pharmacology is drug action on living systems mainly pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics studies. Pharmacology find new targets, better drugability of the chemical and natural compounds, harnessing the updates of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics and personilized medicine.
