Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue at sites other than the uterine cavity and an estrogen-dependent disorder [1]. Among women in the reproductive age group, prevalence estimates in the general population are up to 10%. For women with subfertility, the prevalence rate ranges from 25% to 40% [1,2]. Pain is universally recognized as the primary complaint of women with endometriosis. This symptom significantly damages the quality of life of the patient. Pain management in women with endometriosis has for many years posed a challenge for healthcare professionals [3]. Because the pathophysiology of endometriosis is not well understood, its treatment is often unsatisfactory and limited to relief of symptoms. Treatment options, ranging from medical therapy (non-surgical intervention) to surgical intervention, vary accordingly, as do the results of treatment. NSAIDs, GnRH analogues, androgen derivatives, combined oral contraceptives, and progestins are the most widely used medications in the treatment of endometriosis [4]. Four studies have been conducted to determine the efficacy of goserelin versus other modalities for the treatment of pain associated with endometriosis. However, there is still no formal publication on the evidence-based case report (EBCR) that discusses this issue. Furthermore, a consensus opinion has not been reached in terms of which medicine should be used and for how long it should be administered. Therefore, we do this analysis to solve the question that often arises during our practice.
