Presented by Anne Maher of Down syndrome Therapy. Despite the qualifications and experience in teaching food and nutrition (Anne trained as a teacher in home economics and as a public health nutritionist), she thinks she has learned the most valuable information on nutrition when she became the mother of Shane, her 9-year-old son with DS. Struggling with the world's early years of Down syndrome and related health conditions, she learned to rethink the basics of digestion by focusing on nutritious food and adopted the principles of functional nutrition as the way forward for our children. A journal is a periodic publication intended to advance science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the older journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters and scientific articles in a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain peer-reviewed articles to ensure that articles meet the quality and scientific validity standards of the journal.
