The technique in which pressure is applied to the neck that result in dislocation of the spinal column from skull. It is a very painless and quick procedure. Even this technique has some limitations also, as this can only be performed on animals. Some universities have also accepted this technique as an ethical way to end the life of small organism like rats, squirrels, mice. The main aim is to separate the spinal cord from the brain so as to provide the animal with a fast and painless death. Cervical dislocations without fatal results occur more frequent than they imagine. Due to its supposed rarity cervical dislocation has not received the attention and investigation that its importance deserves. Injuries of the cervical spine in children and adolescents are very rare and are quite different from adults. The symptoms vary greatly from paralysis or death when there is compression of the cord, as usually occurs in the bilateral dislocation, to a posture of the head simulating a torticollis, and they may even go unrecognized.
