Biocontainment is a term generally related to laboratory biosafety and particularly microbiology laboratories where microbiologist work with the physical contaminant of pathogenic organisms or pathogenic agents of microorganisms such as bacteria virus and other toxins buy isolation in biologically and environmentally secure cabinets for rooms in order to prevent the accidental infection of workers and the surrounding work area during their scientific research. This term can also be related to facilitating the study of agricultural pathogens where it is similarly used as biosafety related to the safety practices and procedures which are used to prevent the infection of plants or animals or by releasing hi consequence pathogenic agents into the environment such as air, soil and water.
