Many people achieve healthy levels by eating a balanced diet and through other aspects of their lifestyle. However, some require medication to prevent additional health problems.Moreover, researchers are currently investigating the development of drugs directed at molecular targets, including cholesterol esterification and accumulation in macrophage foam cells. Risk equivalents that will encourage more aggressive therapeutic intervention for individuals at high short-term danger for dyslipidemias, even in the absence of clinically evident coronary disease.
