Biography

Laser Science and Technology Centre, Defence Research and Development Organisation, New Delhi, India Dr Ramesh C. Sharma received the Ph.D. degree in experimental laser spectroscopy from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, in 1995. He is currently a Senior Scientist with the Laser Science and Technology Centre, Defence Research and Development Organisation, New Delhi, India. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Kanpur, India, the University of California, San Diego, USA, and Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS, USA. He was a Project Scientist/Research Fellow/Research Scientist/Senior Scientist with the IAMS Academia Sinica Taipei, Taiwan, University of Tokyo, Japan, the University of Leeds, Leeds, and the University of Manchester, U.K., for several years. He has worked in the fields of laser technology, laser spectroscopy, THz Imaging, bio-photonics imaging, nonlinear optics, nanotechnology, chemical dynamics, laser plasma physics, and laser remote sensing technologies. He is the Group Leader and working on remote sensing of biological, explosive and hazardous chemicals using LIDAR, and laser spectroscopy. He has more than 50 publications in reputed peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Sharma is a Life Member of the Indian Laser Association and the Laser and Spectroscopy Society of India.
