Biography

My name is Angélica Beatriz Garcia Pinto PhD, Brazilian, 28 years old. I’m a PhD in Clinic and Experimental Physiopathology and Master in Morphology, both degree obtained at UERJ (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) and graduated in Physicaltherapy. I work as a researcher of UERJ and I have done researches about systemic hypertension, kidney, rennin angiotensin aldosterone system, aliskiren, bone marrow stem cells and cell and tissue structure and ultrastructure.
Additionally, teach histology and embryology to undergraduate and graduate courses of this university. My major projects are: Structural analysis, ultrastructural and stereological effects of rosuvastatin at different doses in the kidney of C57BL/6 with metabolic syndrome induced by high-fat diet; Effect of low-intensity physical activity in the renal structures of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), and; Comparative study of the effect of administration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and aliskiren in the morphophysiology in renal renovascular hypertensive rats.

Research Interest

Hypertension and organ damage, Organ structure and ultrastructure, Electron scanning microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, Laser scanning confocal microscopy, Structural immunohistochemistry, Ultrastructural immunocytochemistry, Morphometric measurements, Treatment with alisquiren, Rosuvastatina, bone marrow stem cells and physical exercise.
