																The Prevalence and Trend of Urinary Tract Infection among Patients Attending Hospitals in Rivers State

						 Urinary tract infection remains one of the most common  infections, both in the community and in the hospital. The ever-increasing  number of patients presenting with  urinary tract infection and the number of relapse cases of urinary tract  infections after treatment in rivers state, Nigeria. The prevalence and trend of urinary tract infection, isolation  and identification of bacteria isolates from urine samples were examined and  the determination of the antibiogram  of isolates among patients attending hospitals in rivers state. A total of  sixty (60) early morning midstream urine samples were collected from different hospital  patients who are sexually active  between the ages of 18years  and 45years. 30 urine samples  were obtained from the  University Of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) and 30 urine samples also  O.B.
